It was a mild summer's day at Flemington for the running of the The Debonair for three-year-olds, this year open to fillies for the first time. The classy filly Innovation Girl was being tested at the 1400m to see if she could handle the mile of the Cadbury Guineas. She had to contend with the boom Sydney colt Thorn Park and some other smart colts and geldings. She proved too good for her rivals winning well in good time. She will now back up next week in the Group 1 Orr Stakes at Caulfield against the likes of Northerly and Fields Of Omagh instead of contesting the Cadbury Guineas against gallopers her own age.
