The early pace was very slow and only picked up at the 1200 when White Hart Lane went to the front. The race was up for grabs at the turn as the field packed. Othapus was sitting just off the leaders ready to pounce and at the 200 dashed clear to win easily by 1 and 3/4 lengths from Ju-Crazy who finished hard for second with Light Start third.
