A big crowd was
at Moonee Valley to witness the big match race between the champ Sunline and the
challenger Northerly. They didn't disappoint providing a spectacle everyone will remember
for years to come. Sunline looked set to win again but Northerly lifted over the final
stages to grab the lead in the last few strides. This has set up a scenario for a classic
Cox Plate to be run in late October.
