It was a warm day at Caulfield for the running of the Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes and everyone was keen to see the magnificent near black entire Lonhro. He had some quality opposition and needed to dig deep to win but he showed his class over the final stages.

The fillies' division of the AAMI Blue Diamond Prelude was taken out by the impressive Alinghi who has now been installed as the clear favourite for the big race in two weeks.

The very nice Danehill colt Way West was victorious in the males' division of the AAMI Blue Diamond Prelude and is sure to be competitive in the main event.

The sky is the limit for the classy filly Special Harmony after a successful return to racing in the Group 3 Wellington R.C. Autumn Stakes against the colts and geldings. She is likely to become the next racetrack star with such races as the AJC Derby in her sights and even the Cox Plate later in the year.
