LONHRO BLOWS THEM AWAY

Much to the delight of all Melbourne racegoers the beautiful near black horse was back to defend his Yalumba Stakes title. The striking entire has a real presence at the racetrack and his performance was simply stunning. He defied the pattern of racing settling at the rear before sprinting around the whole field in the straight to win as he liked. He now heads to the 'Valley as a short priced favourite for the Cox Plate where a victory will surely cement his champion status.

The Sydney gelding In Top Swing provided local jockey Noel Callow with his first Group One victory in the time honoured Carlton Draught Caulfield Guineas. The chestnut was given the run of the race sitting behind Exceed And Excel before sprinting clear in the straight to win well.
