It was a fine but humid day at Flemington for the eighteenth running of the Group 1 Cadbury Guineas. A small but top quality field of three-year-olds took their place in this prestigious event. The Sydney colt Thorn Park was out to prove a point but he had to contend with the Hughes-family trained duo of Delago Brom and Titanic Jack as well as some other smart types. It turned out to be a victory for the experience of Tommy Hughes Snr. who trained Delago Brom to a great win aided in no small part by a beautifully patient ride from Patrick Payne.
