After an unusually wet summer period the track was slow at Flemington for the running of The Debonair a Group 3 over 1410m for three-year-olds.
The colts and geldings who followed home St. Elmo's Fire in the Zedative Stakes a fortnight ago were back to contest The Debonair along with some interstate rivals.
The VRC Derby winner Elvstroem was sent out favourite ahead of Abdullah but it was the striking Queensland colt Starcraft who blew away his opposition.
He impressed greatly with a last to first performance and will be very hard to beat in future races which include the Cadbury Guineas and perhaps even the Australian Cup.
