It was a overcast and windy afternoon at the Valley for Super Saturday. The Group 1 Carlton Draught Australia Stakes was the feature event and what a field it was. The three-year-old Yell made it three Group Ones in a row stamping himself as a top class performer by beating almost all the top sprinters in the land. Earlier in the day Titanic Jack easily won the Group 2 Top Cut Alister Clark Stakes and looks to have a bright future. The mares contested the Group 2 Sunline Stakes named in honour of the great NZ mare with Tickle My showing class to win well. The feature event for three-year-old fillies was the Group 2 Woodstock Bourbon Moonee Valley Oaks. The Lee Freedman trained Ribe proved a little too strong for the consistent Lashed in a great contest.
