The straight six provided another great spectacle with the 2000 Golden
Slipper winner Belle Du Jour scoring a great win after having little luck in her past two
outings. The race was run in miserable conditions with the entire field coming down the
grandstand side. The mare settled back in the field and stormed to the lead over the last
200m to win easily. Point Danger ran on well for second and Gold Class held on well for
third having been on the pace all the way.
