This race has produced the last two Blue Diamond winners in Redoute's Choice and Road to Success, whose stablemate Ebony Night was expected to run well. The Freedman trained Spitz was very impressive in winning as he settled at the rear of the field and came around the entire field to win from the determined Mustaagel with Ebony Night filling third but looking like he needs more time and experience. The winner is another Danehill colt out of a Sir Tristram mare.
