In a fast run race Damien Oliver positioned Mr. Murphy beautifully third on the rails taking advantage of his favourable barrier draw. He burst clear of the field at the clock tower to record another comprehensive win. This gelding is developing into an exceptional racehorse and could be the find of the Autumn. Interestingly the first five horses home drew the five inside barriers. This may indicate that those drawn out on the track could be forgiven for the run. The VOBIS qualified Neptune's Journey ran second with the Inghams' Outgate coming in third.
