After two very
impressive performances in recent weeks Thong Classic was sent out a hot favourite in the
second. He was unable to match the others for early pace however, and never looked like
winning. A great ride by Damien Oliver gave Madame Plume the run of the race sitting
behind the leader Blazing Sun, before she raced away in the straight to win well. Blazing
Sun held on well for second with Thong Classic making late ground for third.
