The Sydney filly Arlington Road was sent out favourite and went to the
lead on settling. She found little in the straight however and it was Manang that proved
too good after having the run of the race thanks to another great ride by Damien Oliver.
Even though they started from barrier 14, Oliver managed to secure the boxed seat in third
place back on the rails. He patiently waited for the run to come and pushed the filly
through on the rails to dash away for an easy win. National Chase (second) and Gold Lottey
(third) held on well after being on the pace all the way.
