A high class field was assembled to contest this classic event which has
proven to be a good pointer for the VRC Oaks over the years. The Freedman trained Ugachaka
finally delivered the goods after being given a beautiful run from an in-form Damien
Oliver. She was back on the fence midfield before the home turn and when she found space
in the straight quickly sprinted clear to blow away her rivals. Li Lo Lill fought on well
for second having been just off the pace all the way and Hot Beat came home well from back
in the field to run third.
