The assembled
field for this time honoured race was excellent even after the scratching of multiple
Group 1 winner Tie The Knot. The pace was fair with Umrum leading but as they turned for
home he rolled off the fence, allowing Native Jazz to gain a run and he dashed clear for a
great win. Aka Bilk fought on well for second after being on the pace all the way and
Universal Prince flew home from last early to finish a fantastic third. This form should
prove a good indicator for things to come.
