It was a typical
Melbourne day - as the saying goes: "if you don't like the weather wait 5
minutes!" We thought we were in for a cold and possibly wet day but the sun broke
through now and again after lunchtime and we were lucky enough to have a sunny Australian
Cup. The kiwis were all the rage but the WA galloper Northerly was well backed and proved
far too good for his rivals winning in track record time.
