The pace was really on in this race with the early leaders fighting for the lead making this a genuine staying event. Northerly was under pressure a long way from home but showed great fight to battle on for third. Greenstone Charm sat midfield early and moved up behind the leaders on the turn ready to pounce. He burst to the lead when the run came and held off Oval Office who had made a run down the centre of the track. Brew ran on well for fifth.
