This race is
named in honour of the talented galloper Naturalism who is now a successful sire. A good
field of quality middle and long distance performers contested this event with many
needing to win to gain a run in the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups. The classy Zabeel mare
Inaflury returned to her best to score well from another six-year-old mare Celestial Show
who won this race last year. The consistent gelding Natch, also a six-year-old came in
third almost winning the race named after his father.
