This race was the classic cavalry charge and it looked as though the
consistent Marstic would break through for a well deserved win but he had to settle for
another second when the Ingham brothers' gelding Debrief burst to the lead in the last 50m
to win well. The David Moodie horse Crystal Finale continued his fine record at Caulfield
to finish third.
